23.01.2025
MEDIA MONITORING EXPERTS ARE TRACING THE BEST VOLUNTEERISM PRACTICES FOR EXTENSIVE USE IN THE SOCIETY
This statement was announced during the press conference held in the framework of the round table “Receipt and distribution of humanitarian supplies: practical experience” by the Head of Equal Access Committee, Doctor of Science on Social Communications Oleksandr Chekmyshev.
Oleksandr Chekmyshev said also that during the media monitoring it would be traced primarily the examples of successful cooperation between the government institutions of different levels, public activists and journalists, resulted in a new format of synergy that would allow to solve many different problems, to involve the representatives of local business into implementation of public projects and also to make it more socially responsible.
According to the project coordinator, PhD on Social Communications Lesya Yaroshenko, the media monitoring of volunteerism practices will enable to investigate what public actions become widely known through the media, and what public actions, for whatever reason, do not have sufficient resonance.
Oleksandr Chekmyshev stressed that the results of the given research and also the information received about the best volunteerism practices would enable to develop the best models of cooperation between the government, mass media, business and the public.
For this goal, as Lesya Yaroshenko reported, the project initiators in partnership with Ukrainian Philanthropists Forum (UPF) would organize the wave of regional dialogue groups and the first of them would take place in May in Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv. The participants were invited for cooperation (to be the experts of the project, to report about successful examples of synergistic projects that are not covered by the media, about the efficient examples of collaboration of socially responsible business, the third sector with the authorities and the media, as well as the difficulties of such cooperation).
This event engaged over 60 representatives of different sectors of society, in particular governmental authorities, CSOs, mass media, business, scientific community. Heads and top managers of strong Ukrainian and international foundations and organizations (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs UN in Ukraine, Caritas Ukraine, International Renaissance Foundation, International Charitable Organization "Messenger of Peace", Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Command Center, Frolivska Volunteers Center for IDPs, All-Ukrainian Charity «Child Well-being Fund Ukraine», International Association for Support of Ukraine) had an opportunity to discuss problematic issues of humanitarian aid and other vital displays of civic movement in Ukraine with the independant lawyers, representatives of Verkhovna Rada and the government (State Fiscal Service, General Directorate of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service, Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, State Employment Office).
